Our Story

Four decades of hospitality, ten years at Quarry Lake

Charles and Susan Levine opened Citron in November 2016, built on the foundation of Citron Caterers, 30+ years of off-premise catering across Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia. Charles has personally run more than 14,000 events across his 40-year career, for clients including five U.S. presidents, the NFL, the Rolling Stones, and Oprah.

Executive Chef Mary Hersh now leads a seasonal, scratch kitchen on the water, and Citron marks its 10th anniversary in November 2026, still family owned, still growing.

Frequently asked questions

For The COVE and full-venue buyouts, we recommend 4-6 months out. Smaller rooms often have more flexibility, reach out and we'll check availability.

Yes. Our concierge network of floral, AV, and entertainment partners is available, or you may bring your own, our team coordinates either way.

Dinner service runs Wednesday through Sunday from 4pm, with Happy Hour from 4-6:30pm. Private events are hosted seven days a week.

Yes, Citron Caterers brings 30+ years of off-premise catering expertise to venues and private residences across MD, DC, and Northern VA.
