Our Story

A family business, ten years on the water

Charles and Susan Levine opened Citron on Quarry Lake in November 2016, built on the catering legacy of Citron Caterers, 30+ years of off-premise events across Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia. Charles has personally run more than 14,000 events over his 40-year career, for clients ranging from five U.S. presidents to the NFL, the Rolling Stones, and Oprah.

Today, Executive Chef Mary Hersh leads a seasonal, scratch kitchen, and the restaurant celebrates its 10th anniversary in November 2026, still family owned, still on the water.

Frequently asked, happily answered

For The COVE and larger celebrations, 4-6 months out is ideal. Smaller rooms like the Fireplace or Mirror Room can often be booked with a few weeks' notice, just ask.

Absolutely. We have trusted floral, AV, and entertainment partners, but you're welcome to bring your own, our planning team will coordinate either way.

Private events run seven days a week. The restaurant itself is open for dinner Wednesday-Sunday from 4pm, with Happy Hour 4-6:30.

Yes, Citron Caterers brings the same kitchen and 30+ years of off-premise experience to your home, backyard, or another venue across MD, DC, and Northern VA.
