Long before there was a Citron, there was a young Charles Levine learning the hospitality trade at Baltimore's Pimlico Hotel, absorbing the discipline and warmth that would define everything he built afterward.
In 1985, that education became Citron Caterers, an off-premise catering operation that would go on to serve nearly 14,000 events across Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia, for clients that included five United States presidents, the NFL, the Rolling Stones, and Oprah Winfrey.
For three decades, Charles and his wife Susan carried that catering business from ballroom to backyard, learning exactly what a room needs to feel like a celebration. Then, in November 2016, they brought everything they had learned home to Quarry Lake and opened Citron: a waterfront restaurant with a seasonal scratch kitchen, a full sushi bar, and a wine list built to match the view.
Ten years later, that same family still walks the dining room most nights it's open.
